August Bank Holiday

There will be NO TRAINING this Bank Holiday Monday 7th August.

Sea Swim Season 2023

The LOS sea swim season kicks off this Saturday 27th May at Seapoint. 

The Ladies’ race is at 4pm and the Men’s race is at 5pm.

In addition to the normal prizes, Glenalbyn have confirmed there is a Wetsuit 1st prize category for both men and women for this race.

RACE REGISTRATION

For anyone who swam last year, your Timing Chips are due to be collected by your club contacts for distribution prior to the race. Please contact your club contacts or secretary. 

Your registration and race handicap times will be available at race check-in, 2.30pm - 3.20pm for the ladies’ race and 3.30pm - 4.20pm for the men’s race. 

RETURNING SWIMMERS:

For any returning swimmers from 2022/2021/2020 who didn't receive a timing chip in 2023, you can register on Saturday at 2.30pm for the ladies’ race and 3.30pm for the men's race. 

Please have your LOS number ready.

NEW SWIMMERS:

For any new swimmer, registration is open from  2.30pm - 3pm for the ladies’ race and 3.30 - 4pm for the men’s race. Please have your current Swim Ireland membership number, Club Name, 1600m Expected Time, 100m Expected Time available.

RACE COSTS:

Payment taken on the day:

€15 for over 18s

€10 for under 18s

Please note cash payments only, available on Saturday 27th. 

LOS hopes to have Tap/Revolute up and running for the remainder of the season.

SEASON REGISTRATION: 

Will open online in June.

Ulster Masters Championships 2023

 

Swim Ulster will host the Ulster Masters Championships 2023 at South Lake Leisure Centre, Craigavon on Sunday 21st May 2023.The competition is in 50m format. 

Entries should be emailed to admin(at)swimulster.net or posted to the Swim Ulster Office by Wednesday 10th May 2023. 

All information including online entry form is available on the Ulster masters website

If there are enough swimmers interested, Aer Lingus Masters will hire a bus, so please inform Mary if you are interested in this option before the 26th April.

There is swimming this Saturday 8th April and Monday 10th April at the usual times.

History Makers!

 

History was made at our relay gala in the NAC this Saturday by these four intrepid swimmers.

Claire O'Dwyer (82), Jim Connolly (80), Deirdre Moore (78) and Tom Quinn (82) 

became the first ever Irish Masters Relay to compete in the 320+ age category. 

Swimming the Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay, the team came home in a new 

IRISH RECORD of 4:07.45.
