We miss swimming! – And it’s not just the feel of the water
and that sense of freedom it gives you. Without swimming, we are a community of
swimmers without a place to meet up, chat, have a laugh and do what we love. That
said, we still remain a ‘community’. We are here for each other and are thinking
of each other.
The difficulties this lockdown brings can vary for everyone.
For some it’s trying to balance work with child-minding and rarely having time
for oneself. For others, who maybe live by themselves, the lockdown means complete
self-isolation. In the past, swimming has been there to help us combat loneliness
or isolation, it has given us an outlet, a sense of purpose, or encouraged a
drive within us to keep going, keep getting better.
That’s why we want to say that the club is still here. If
you need a helping hand or a listening ear, please drop our Facebook page a
direct message, email aerlingusmasters@gmail.com
or maybe just pick up the phone and just call someone you miss. Just because we
can’t see each other doesn’t mean we are not here. And ‘swimming’ will be there
again someday soon. In the meantime we’re still here. Talk to us.
